The Garrick Lichfield
Tuesday 12th June – Saturday 16th June 7.30 2007
Much Ado About Nothing is a play that has its problems: it starts as one thing, becomes something else and jumps through a few hoops to get back to some sense of logic and equilibrium. When Don Pedro and his comrades-in-arms return there are high expectations of romance, pleasure, good-hearted banter and relaxation: a bit of a break really. Even Benedick’s and Beatrice’s bittersweet sniping is a source of delight rather then deflation. However, mistakes are made, misunderstandings occur and we have an altogether different situation
Central Line Touring’s ability to combine dynamic choreographic techniques with its capacity to discover and re-discover new life and meaning in classic texts produces great clarity and visual power. Managing to keep an audience entertained and following the plot takes skill but as previous productions have shown this is the company’s forte
Just when you thought it was a romantic comedy,
a witty battle of the sexes,
an entertaining interplay of words and ideas,
a delightful romp through country estates,
things take a turn for the worse….
